I know we talked a little bit about this on the AoE thread, but I thought it best to open up a new discussion for this game specifically.

For those who don't know about the game, it's an free-to-play/freemium rts where you can build up your choice ancient civilization.

Now, that we all know about it now, anybody playing it?
What are your thoughts and how do you think it holds up the mantle of the past AoE games?

And more importantly, what's your screenname?

My brother has played this before. I play some of the original Age Of Empires but have never tried doing it online. I think it would definitely be something new to try.

Alright, well, that's for Games for Windows Live, so we'll see what happens to AoE:O.

This is from the AOE:O support page:
Games for Windows Live will be discontinued on July 1, 2014. Although it is available through Steam, Age of Empires Online requires features of the Games for Windows Live service. You can continue to enjoy all the features of Age of Empires Online as the service will remain 100% operational until July 1, 2014 when the server will shut down.

The gist I got from this is that AOE:O won't be around until July 1st. They don't even have a store page on Steam anymore.

One of my friends oldest brother used to play this game, he said it was fun, and annoying at times. :)
