I still haven't gotten SoulSilver, which I want more. Sentimental reasons.

Yeah, Pokemon Gold/Silver is my favorite pokemon generation next to Sapphire/Ruby's,
and I do say, Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver didn't disappoint.

Aside from than all the other great content, I also loved the remastered music.
Also really cool, you're able to get an item that when turned on,
changes the music of the area you're in to the classic 8-bit tracks.
(I am really hoping that feature makes it into the sapphire/ruby remake, even though I probably won't use it a whole lot. )

Gah, I want it. I want it so bad.

I sunk more hours into Ruby than any other Pokemon game, and I'm willing to do it again. Unfortunately, I don't have a 3DS and don't plan on buying one anytime soon.

I never did get Pokemon. I mean whats the point? I'd much rather spend my time on a RPG or Minecraft then playing with devilish looking cartoon characters. I've never bought a Pokemon, and never plan to. I'm glad you guys like it but it's not for me.
Does anyone else have this problem?

My wife and I got them about when the came out. Being remakes of Sapphire/Ruby I know much of the game like the back of my hand so I got through to the 6th gym badge fairly quickly.

Picked them up for my eldest daughter off Kijiji, sealed, a few days after release, for $30 each. She's going to flip out on her birthday (19th) and on Christmas. Got myself a 3DS for $40 off Kijiji too, so I'll play a Pokemon game for the first time ever and see if I like it too.

Have to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss first on the Vita though. /swoon

I got this game not to long ago, man... the nostalgia. XD
I do say it's a very interesting experience, while a good number of the things are the same... a lot has changed.
How to put it into words...

It's almost as if the game takes place a few years after the original Ruby and Sapphire. (namely in terms of the world, not story or characters.)
For example, making pokeblocks is no longer a minigame that took 1-3 npcs or players,
and the machine that used to make them are no longer used and are now displayed in a glass case,
and you can even talk to an old man reminiscing about the days when it was used.
Mauville City has change into a huge shopping center/city,
and the old game corner was closed down, and the owner talks about it a little.

It's like you're playing as the next generation, the world changed, the main characters are younger, etc. (The boy's default name actually changed.)
I do say, I kinda like that element.

I am not going to lie though, the new story dialog sure is... uhhh... interesting? XD
It's just weird when the enemy Aqua/Magma leaders praise you so much when you're foiling their plans. XD

All of that aside though, has anyone else gotten into secret base making?

I liked the reference that Poke Centers used to be two story buildings =P

I just purchased alpha sapphire and it really takes me back to playing these games on the GBA. I enjoy the improved graphics with a 3D layout, and it does a great job at combining the world of a nostalgic pokemon game with the new battle mechanisms. All in all, I think this is one of the greatest ways to remaster a classic.

I got it for Christmas. If anyone wants to battle me, send me a private message. I'm pretty much always ready for a good battle.
