Re: Whatcha reading???

I finished Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis while on my trip. It felt vastly different than any other book by him that I've read so far. Not a bad thing, just different. Very personal. You could almost feel him writing a bit more for himself in this one than for the reader like much of his other work....

Re: My Wife And I Are Getting Married...

Many congratulations to you! The vow of marriage certainly teaches us a great deal about not only life, but ourselves and our God. A beautiful thing, to be sure. :)

Re: An Epiphany Regarding Adult Films

Though it is still hard some days, I am fully glad I gave it up. The disease that pornography is can perhaps only been seen with crystal clarity after breaking free of it. It is simply too powerful when combined with hormones and natural tendencies to allow to run free, and for me the right answer w...

Re: Longest Trip of My Life

Many thanks for the prayers, happy to report this morning I am back at my desk safe and sound and with a very productive trip! It was a wonderful time of seeing sights and experiencing new places and things, and on top of that I was able to hear some deeply spiritual concepts that I'm hopeful will c...

Longest Trip of My Life

Hello my CCG friends! My wife and I are getting packed up to depart for the longest trip I've ever been on. Traveling to China, New Zealand, and Australia over many many weeks, which will log about 80 hours in airplane rides alone! I wanted to take a minute to let everyone know, since I likely won't...

More art from the upcoming game. Figured it doesn't hurt to share it as I go!

Re: A Not So Blockheaded Question:

Was thinking more on this subject yesterday, and here is what I wrote down: Questions are difficult because language is difficult. Language fills a gap for us. It is a way for us to communicate about things *beyond language.* The word "love" does not (generally) jam actual love into us. It is said t...

NT Wright lecture on Heaven and Resurrection

Someone sent me a link to this video on Twitter and I wanted to share it here as well. It is long, but flies by because the information is so compelling. Also I love NT Wright's work, so it was great to hear him speak (usually I just read his writings). Hope you enjoy it!

Re: A Not So Blockheaded Question:

Well the main reasons for communication are to be heard and to receive information. We like the first, because it feeds into our pride, but the second can be a lot trickier because sometimes what we want to hear and what we do hear are two very different things. :) As ArcticFox says, we also forget ...

Been a while again! Here is an early character model sheet for our next Weekend Panda game, plus some of the 5 minute rough icons I did to use as we figure out the game's mechanics. https://www.weekendpanda.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/hazel_WIP800.png https://www.weekendpanda.com/wp-content/uploa...

Re: Think quick! Erm... I mean fast!

(Side note: Notice how so much of our culture has shaped itself to honor the Seven Deadly Sins, rather than avoid them?)
It's true. I hadn't considered that consciously before, but you're spot on there.

Re: Think quick! Erm... I mean fast!

It makes me wonder why this is... if Christ mentioned it, it had to have been important. Why don't more Christian churches incorporate it into their practices? Map it along side the other really, really challenging things Christ tells us to do (like love our enemies) and I bet you will find some in...

Ha ha, indeed. Though I think once you find him then that good ol' Sanctification process begins in earnest. :)

A never ending journey, that! (Well, at least in this lifetime.)

Re: Getting into Blender...

Nice! I've never played around with Blender but I hear very good things about it. If you need any thoughts on the animation side (not the program itself, but animation principles and stuff) let me know. I've been at it for like 15 years now. It's a wonderful time, though very hard, ha ha.
