Praises for Growth

I could go into a long version of the story, but I will just say Praises for Growth. In the past five years I have learned so much (alongside learning how much I don't know!) and grown to truly want more of God's will than my own. It has been a night and day difference for me, and added so much joy ...

Re: Post Requirement Complete

I debated joining because the addiction of Minecraft is strong in me and I kicked the habit a while back, but the truth is everyone here has been so fantastic and I'd love to play with you all. :) Username: JKRofFtM (though since I migrated my account just now [whatever that means] it has me log in ...

Re: Whatcha reading???

I am currently reading a book called Evicted , by Matthew Desmond. It is such an easy read in the sense of writing style, and such a hard read in terms of content. To watch real people go through poverty and eviction as well as deal with drug addiction and just the hard aspects of life in general is...

Re: Ludum Dare Game Jam

Yeah, that's our fault. We didn't make it obvious enough (time constraints!!). If you want to try it again, you now know you can click the fish to buy a new fish. Your new fish's name is Mr. Fishy II, and he is blue. :)

I'm hoping to fix that design flaw in the future version we'd like to create!

Re: Ludum Dare Game Jam

Did you get a new fish? (We needed to make that clearer but ran out of time!) You click the dead fish and can buy a new one. :)

Re: Ludum Dare Game Jam

Thanks, it WAS fun! A ton of work, too, ha ha. If anyone is interested in trying our game or reading about its production, you can find both in this post. I'd do Ludum Dare again, with a better understanding of how now that the first time is out of the way, and if anyone has ever wanted to make a ga...

Ludum Dare Game Jam

My wife and I are going to attempt the Ludum Dare game jam this weekend! First time giving it a go, so we'll see what happens. I'm already tired, lol. Anyone else here ever try it? (If this thread is better suited to the Creative board, please feel free to move it! I debated which spot it would be b...

Re: My grandpa

Definitely keeping you all in my prayers. Cancer sucks, have had to deal with it in my family a number of times. Peace in this time and the coming months.

Re: Favorite bands

Relient K and Switchfoot are the top two on my list. Mostly I just listen to their albums on repeat with some other random stuff tossed in alongside. That makes up 99% of the music I listen to, lol.

Re: Your Favorite Outdoor Activity

Bouldering is such fun! Though I've only ever done it indoors. We had been going about three times a week, though thanks to an injury of mine it dropped down to once every few weeks. Guess it's time to get back to it!

My own personal favorite outdoor activity is probably tennis.

Re: Introductions - New Members Post Here!

Animation fan in general, but I DO love me some Spirited Away, ha ha. (Mostly I picked the avatar because it was the one that said "animation" to me. Wasn't sure if I could upload my own, figured not since I didn't see the option!)

Re: Ted Dekker fans, unite!

I read "Showdown" in my 20s and the whole time said/thought "This is a really weird book." I just kept repeating that over and over. I don't think I was quite ready for it. Then, in my 30s, I picked up "Sinner" (without knowing it was a sequel) and LOVED it. Suddenly all the stuff in Showdown made a...

Re: Recommend a book.

If any of the Narnia fans here (or even if you're not) hasn't yet read C.S. Lewis' "The Great Divorce" you should rush to your local library or book shop ASAP because it's incredible.

Re: Whatcha reading???

I just finished a book by biblical scholars (ON biblical scholarship) called I (Still) Believe. It was heavy, but had some interesting bits. Now I'm working my way through Tim Keller's Counterfeit Gods.

Re: Any drawing fans out there?

Sadly the links seem to be 404 errors now, so I can't see them... Hope you stuck with it and are enjoying creating, though! I've been drawing for a long time, but not disciplined enough to get truly great at it. Still, I can see I've come a ways since my youth, and I appreciate all the positive aspe...
