Re: I'm ashamed to admit this, but I'm in a desperate place.

I'm so sorry to hear of your situation. I sent along a small donation, I hope it's helpful. I know it isn't a magic cure or a huge amount, but I figured if everyone could chip in a little it would make a difference, and I felt it on my heart to be part of that. I will also keep you in my prayers, fo...

Re: Hi guys, my first question! I need help with a difficult verse!

If you could please explain to me what you meant in reason 2, that'd be great, I didn't get the full understanding of that. Also, if I'm correct, these words are the words of God. If you're an Orthodox Jew, you're reading the original words of God, what he meant to be told to the people. I get that...

Re: Riddle me this

He had hickups... Here is another classic: There are three switches downstairs. Each corresponds to one of the three light bulbs in the attic. You can turn the switches on and off and leave them in any position. How would you identify which switch corresponds to which light bulb, if you are only al...

Re: Whatcha reading???

I picked up a Charles Spurgeon book from the library called Till He Come. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41ncrkCVG-L.jpg It's very powerful, especially opening my eyes to some aspects of communion that I had never considered. (Communion is not a subject I have given a great deal of...

Suicide in the family

Hi all. I learned yesterday that a cousin of mine committed suicide a few days ago. He lived alone, so no one found the body until days later when he hadn't been in for work in a while. Nothing seemed out of place before hand, and there was no note explaining why, but dark stuff lives in our hearts ...

Re: For my cousin

Definitely will. I can't speak to every issue, especially knowing so little, but from issues I've had in the past that have been pretty darn severe, being cared about (and shown that care) helps a lot. Being there for him will do a great deal.

Re: Hi guys, my first question! I need help with a difficult verse!

It perplexes me how people can go into faiths with heavy edits of the original edition of their holy text. I used to struggle with this as well until a pastor presented a pair of important ideas: 1) It is your responsibility to know your theology, so read whatever translations you like but be certa...

Re: "Not my problem" said the local gaming store.

It is often the things that don't seem like big deals that are the biggest deals of them all. There is depth here, so it's good to see it through. It's not like you're making a stink out of something for the sake of being a jerk. And I've seen nothing to indicate you haven't handled it in an exempla...

Re: "Not my problem" said the local gaming store.

It sucks when people don't act like we expect, or hope for. I hear that. I'm sorry you had to have that experience, because it feels awful. Been there, it's rough. And I totally get what you mean about wanting to support local game (or other kinds) of stores and be part of the community. That's a gr...

Praises for medical results

My mother had some scary things show up in a recent medical exam, and today found out it was not cancerous. While I know God has it all in His hands regardless, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy and relieved of this result instead of something more life-threatening. We all know how this part of ...

TOday I learned that a Wacom tablet can be so annoying
I hear that!
Today I learned that writing comments on Facebook is a long, terrible, laborious process that is far too hard to subject the common man to.

*eye twitch*
I hear that, too! Facebook is a blessing and a curse, lol.

Thanks for sharing it! More scripture in our lives is always a good thing. :) It is appreciated.
