Re: Tattoos

If the Bible comes right out and says "Don't get tattoos" and yet Christians think they're fine, they should take the "homosexuality is bad" nonsense and stick it, in my view.

Re: Tattoos

I don't know the whole Bible off by heart, and I didn't do the research at the moment. If you think about the origins of tattoos it came from heathens. Why should we practice a heathen/ pagan ritual? Neither do I, but I do think Christians should know their Bibles well enough to quickly find refere...

Re: Tattoos

On a side note: Why would anybody want to get a tattoo in the first place? Is it because it is "cool" or something to take pride in? If that's the case, that's a great reason to steer CLEAR of them. To answer (whoever asked's) your question... I'm sure there are other scriptures out there that can ...

Re: Arguments Evolutionists Should Not Use

Their "Arguments creationists should not use" article should probably be updated to include "No appeals to the authority and scientific credentials of fiction writer and climate change denier Michael Crichton.". I liked number twenty in particular. The "narrow-minded, blinkered approach" is when you...

Re: Tattoos

My standpoint is this: I don't believe you ought to be tattooing your body. The Bible says to flee from youthful lusts (2 Timothy 2:2), and be not conformed to the world, but to be changed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2). I feel that tattoos are very worldly. I feel that there should be...

Re: Outgrouping

Well, Jesus did say He came to set children against their parents and so on. In the immortal words of President Bush: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/ff/Bush_mission_accomplished.jpg My question is whether He did it on purpose or He was commenting on an inevitable side effect of human nat...

Re: Tattoos

Before judging the religious you should take into consideration the context on which these Old Testament laws were written. I try to to leave the judging to the religious. They're so much better at it! Fast forward to modern day and I believe AA already hit the nail - they no longer have the same s...

Re: Tattoos

I was having a conversation with my father who is on the board of a Christian camp and the topic of tattoos was brought up. As a board they decided that any employee (namely summer counselors) who had a tattoo had to keep it covered at all times. There was great discussion about this policy and som...

Have any Christians that you know personally become hostile after finding out you no longer believe?

Finally got back into this. I'm five episodes in season 3. So far....it's dark. Depressingly so, in fact.
Ehh? Angel was never depressing!

Until season four. Vampire half-boy with his Daddy's gal pal? That was depressing.
