Re: Your top 10 retro games.

Speaking of Quest for Glory, if any of you youngsters want to pick up the whole series on the cheap it's part of GOG's weekend sale this week. Along with some other excellent Sierra classics.

Generally unproductive. If you must insult someone for no reason then own it. Leave them in tears. Otherwise, what was your point?

No, and I don't know.
Not much of a movie person in general. Mostly it's Disney anyway these days. 3 kids and all. >.>

"You go, girl"? I suppose that's one way to attempt a cultural coup.

Re: Is this thing on...

Would like to meet the guy who made it. So would I Do you know what happened to my fruit basket?? Is it on vacation? Where would you predict mankind would be in 500 years, and what would the earth be like? Loosely guessing, of course. Extrapolating from current events I suspect it's going to...

I occasionally get the feeling that the superhero genre is continually attempting to justify its existence.

Re: Sandbox Genre forum

I personally would classify Fallout 1 & 2 as small scale sandbox games. In the most basic terms I call it a sandbox if you're not railroaded down the plot-line and there are sufficient activities and space to distract you from said plot. In its purest form there is no plot, like Minecraft. Kids ente...

Re: Go ask the lizard-guy something....

That would seem to be a down point for the kitchen as well. When we moved here, the prior owners had installed a meat-cutting room in the barn (it seems that they were hunters) and one of the features of that room were a series of strong magnets mounted on the wall where they could keep their knive...

Re: Ask JO(J650s)!

Man, I remember Final Fantasy 9. :) though I admit I actually didn't get far at all, mainly due to an really old PS1 card having memory errors. Though I now do have access to a another PS1 card, I'll have to try it out. FF9... FF9... can't place it... <wikipedia> Ooooh. That one. What did...

Mass Effect 2
Yes I know. I'm behind the times.
Wasn't bad, but the technical failures made it hard to enjoy. Though they seemed to do a decent job at making me feel comfortable without having played the 1st game.

Re: Sandbox Genre forum

Alright then tell me, just where do games such as Infamous and Prototype go into in these forums? Games like those have a genre of their own, I'm sorry that you seem too simple-minded to understand. You've narrowed your 'genre' down to 4 games and dismissed all other comers as not meeting your requ...

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek is at its best when it talks about some important issue related to science or, often, ethics. It's at its genre worst when it discards internal consistency in favor of bigger explosions. Beyond that the pseudo-science is all window dressing. That said, I haven't watched the new movies. Nev...
