Go ask the lizard-guy something....

I've been here for a couple of weeks and just noticed this section. Finally made my Spot check.

Feel free to ask anything you'd like. Just be prepared for a very detailed, occasionally noncommittal answer!

Re: Current MTG stoof halpz pl0x

I heard that some tournaments actually work that way. The players are given a starter deck and a few boosters (all sealed, of course), a few minutes to come up with a deck, then have at it. Personally, I think it sounds more sporting that way.

Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition

The release date for the game is approaching - some reports say it'll be November 28, others November 30. Is anyone else looking forward to this game? What is it? Baldur's Gate - both the original and the sequel - is being redone and released for the latest operating systems. It also will be on Andr...

Re: Current MTG stoof halpz pl0x

They keep adding rules with new expansions. Eventually it becomes a headache trying to keep track of all the different mechanics. I started playing after Mercadian Masks was released. I quit sometime after Planeshift. So I certainly can't provide any advice after that. (Except Armadillo Cloaks. Load...

Re: What was your favourite game from your early childhood?

Boy, this thread has been a trip down memory lane for me... My earliest gaming experience has been the Ultima series, and Ultima IV was easily my favorite of the series. It's available for free from GOG.com , if anyone else here would like to try it. I bought my own Super Nintendo in high scho...

Re: Skyrim?

If we were discussing a game like God of War, Bayonetta or even the Grand Theft Auto games, I might be agreeing with you, Nax. There are some games that do seem to have a malevolent, almost tainted air to them. Sure, they may be fun, but they make you feel ... less spiritually attuned, for lack of ...

Re: Skyrim?

Speaking of Skyrim and its awesomeness (although I admit I haven't played it, but I'm familiar enough with the Elder Scrolls series I think I know what I'm talking about ;) ) is its flexibility with each person's play styles. If you don't want to kill people, then you can play the game without killi...

Re: Skyrim?

I definitely want this game. I have Morrowind and still play it from time to time to this day. What sucked me in and convinced me to buy the game initially was the music, believe it or not. So enthralling.... And just wandering around looking at the scenery, whether it's foggy swamps or mysterious r...

Planescape: Torment

Whoah. This old game has tricks. And it's engaging. No wonder they consider this a classic.
I absolutely love that game. I wish I knew where I put my disks. I never finished it....

Re: "Stargate: Atlantis" Spec Script

/applause Very well done! You especially captured the characters nicely (especially McKay). The only possible flaw I saw was the idea of someone crawling away after getting shot by Ronon. If you get hit by that hand cannon, you're DOWN, even if it was set on stun. But that's just a minor nitpick. Ot...

Re: Who is the face of PlayStation third-person shooting?

Metroid is in first person view, and you shoot things. That's good enough for me....Unless we're either joking or possibly including other genre aspects thrown into the game (it does have some platforming in it and adventure game elements to it) I'd say it depends on the Metroid game, though. The o...

Re: New games v. 2.0

Just got Fractal and played it a bit. It's an interesting puzzler. I'll have to experiment with it a bit more to determine how much I like it.

Re: Who's the most intriguing video game character you know

Dhalsim from the Street Fighter franchise. Needless to say, he's one of my favorites to play as well. Not the one I'm best at, but one I enjoy nonetheless.

Re: Who is the face of PlayStation third-person shooting?

But seriously though, Metroid is not an FPS. ERGH
Does that include the Metroid Prime series? Because normally I find FPSes mind-numbingly boring, but I really enjoy the Metroid Primes. If they aren't considered FPSes, it may explain why I like them....
