Re: Atheist Murders Three Muslims

So, if I understand this properly, the atheist response is: HaHA you benighted Christians, the West is becoming more enlightened and less dogmatic like never before! Everyday people are leaving religion: every poll says so. Atheism ascendant! ::Atheist murders Muslims:: We're a minority, we don't ev...

Atheist Murders Three Muslims

Link . Clearly he doesn't represent 99.99999% of all atheists out there and his associate with various atheist groups, and fondness for icons in the community, are immaterial. But the article brings up the core point: Would the media be so forgiving to a Christian? Or even a conservative? We know t...

Re: CIP - Stephen Fry and the Paralyzed Man of God

I agree there is something to be gained from examining arguments and understanding why you believe what you believe. But we must know when our efforts are in vain and the enemy is using our own energy against us. There is nothing so intoxicating as trying to prove the rightness of one's cause and th...

CIP - Stephen Fry and the Paralyzed Man of God

As some of you may or may not know, British comedian and noted atheist made some waves when asked what he'd say to God if he came face-to-face with Him. "I’ll say: bone cancer in children, what’s that about? How dare you? How dare you create a world where there is such misery that’s not our fault? I...

Re: Should Ginsburg and Kagan withdraw?

And pointless to argue one way or the other. Saying "well they wouldn't have passed it" isnt really important anyway. Some of the original authors owned slaves, too--that doesn't mean that we shouldn't talk about slavery because they might not have approved. Fairly certain you've twisted my words t...

Re: Should Ginsburg and Kagan withdraw?

The 14th Amendment was never intended to be used to opine on the institution of marriage. No, the ratifying States were pretty sure it was about getting American-born or naturalized slaves the rights enjoyed by every American citizen. Also pretty sure it wouldn't have passed had they known it actual...

Re: Best Way to read the Bible?

Please, please, please don't read the New Testament then dive into the Old Testament. Would start your journey into the Lord of the Rings with The Return of the King then bounce into The Fellowship of the Ring ? Of course not. But for reasons beyond my understanding Christians tell fellow Christians...

Same here. I just can't dedicate the time to MMOs. Not when there are so many other single-player games to be had!

Re: Skyrim on Steam, So Many Mods!!!

Do a Google search of recommended mods. There are some great ones out there that will make it very pretty. Of course it's all limited by what your PC can handle.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

I haven't read up on it, but was Dain Ironfoot completely CGI? Like, it's Billy Connolly's voice and nothing else?
And his face... sorta.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Lord of the Rings, especially the first one, used minimal CGI to great effect. But this movie feels almost out of place, like it's not in the same universe. And when you're writing a prequel, that's a problem. This is also my major gripe with the Star Wars prequels, I might add. In conclusion, I th...

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

That scene was hard. The whole spiel about Dragon-sickness was pretty bad, though. Any "prequel" (and sequel) worth it's salt should make the original work better, or at least not screw it up. Apart from being poor movies, the biggest of sins of the Star Wars sequels was that it undermined the Orig...

Re: So New York Magazine Interviewed A Zoophile

I'm going to blow your mind and tell you that this has been going on for thousands of years Of course it has, it's mentioned in the Bible as an inexcusable act. The problem is that it may soon become permissible if the media thinks it's ok. Rationally it already is permissible, if not moral. Again,...

Re: So New York Magazine Interviewed A Zoophile

True, I think calling Dan Savage what they did was childish, but it's not inaccurate. He wraps himself in an anti-bullying cloak and then proceeds to mercilessly attack and mock anyone who disagrees with him, even high schoolers. He has an agenda and it's not stopping bullying. It's stopping anyone ...
