Re: Fall of Man

ha! Well the comparison is drawn in the relationship of Eve being Adam's wife and Christ being the bridegroom of the church. The comparison is far from perfect if you consider the personal qualities of Adam vs Jesus. Obviously Jesus never became imperfect. Adam shared responsibility for man's sinful...

Re: Fall of Man

Because we still haven't learned enough about free will. Not even going there. :P But it's the only thing that makes any logical sense (to me and my sense of logic) Later in chapter 3, during the curse, we can reason that Eve was deceived, but Adam chose to follow Eve instead of doing what h...

Re: Fall of Man

Hm... why was that tree even there? why was a serpent allowed in the garden? Why, if man was perfect, did both of the original ones sin? Oh yeah. And why didn't God just get rid of Adam and Eve and start over like he, um, did a short while later? so what I'd like to get out of this topic is just a ...

Fall of Man

Bring it on.. (Hey if no one else is going to do anything.. ) So, first was have the obvious stuff in Genesis so may as well start there. I noticed that this particular topic has the most votes so I think we'd be amiss if we didn't at least talk about it. But first I'd like to ask what people want t...

Re: Verse study.

I read it as salvation is the gift we accept through our faith. Though in a sense things like faith and wisdom are often strengthed through prayer and trials so I can see the case for faith as a gift, just not how I read it here. Though what I really like about this verse along with Rom 6:23 is our ...

Re: Our first study topic

heh I'm definately biased on free will, I'm the only one who voted for it but you can't avoid it with the other topics either.

So which brave soul is going to start? Or is it me? :D

Re: So who wants to do this & How often?

That was AFTER Eve.. there's nothing to indicate he was standing right there when she did. But this isn't the place for this discussion, if you really want to get into it, prepare something for a study. ;)

Re: Our first study topic

Nah the basics of free will is pretty cut & dry really, particularly when you figure out just what predestination would mean. It's just understanding the full implications of it.. just how deep it goes is really quite astounding when you think about it.

Re: Our first study topic

How about this.. let's say start out with one or two and see how it goes.. if it's too much we can keep it at one at a time, if people want to do more we can?

When we feel we've exhausted a topic someone should post a summary for late comers.

Re: Our first study topic

That's the beauty of a forum format though. You could have 10 threads going and anyone can take them at their own pace. But I see your point to the extent that people like to have just one thing to think about at a time. I did throw some biggies out in the suggestions. :) Though I've of a mind that ...

Re: Our first study topic

I see no reason why we can't do more than one at a time. Unless I'm the only one planning on running something?

Re: So who wants to do this & How often?

I'm pretty sure he would've stopped her if he had been there. In either case, if we really want to discuss it then perhaps someone should do a study? ;)

Re: Suggestions?

I think we should just do what we feel moved to do. Unless we're planning on assigning topics?
