I'm a fan of Zack Snyder's graphic-novel-to-movie work, and I'll be looking forward to this.

I am hesitant. The trailer I saw before the Hobbit made it seem as though the main villain would be Superman's feeeeeelings and I'M NOT UP FOR THAT STUFF MAN

I've heard good things about Snyder's work, notably 300 and Watchmen. He knows what to do with a graphic novel, I'm presuming.

I've also become something of a Superman fan (he has a few good graphic novels - All Star Superman, Kingdom Come, etc.), so I may just look into this.

WAIT, WHO SAID CHRISTOPHER NOLAN?

When I had encountered trailers for this movie, my fears were "Not another superman returns..." but as I saw more of the trailer, I became interested.

My only complaint at this point is that it's yet ANOTHER origin story in a genre that already tells way too many origin stories.

I occasionally get the feeling that the superhero genre is continually attempting to justify its existence.

Which is sad, if true... because it doesn't have to.

I mean... when they made the new Spider-Man movie recently, did it really have to review the origin of the character? On some level it seems like filmmakers these days are more interested in re-imagining the character instead of telling a story that fits the character.

Not only that, I felt that the Tobey Maguire origin story was in many some respects more true to the original comics (putting MJ and web shooters aside) than ASM, when that was supposed to be Amazing Spider-Man's big gimmick.

I thought Incredible Hulk, Batman 1989 and Superman Returns are the best examples of just quickly bringing the audience up to date of how the hero came to be.

Going to see it tonight..

I'm so geeked about this it isn't even funny. I'm even more excited than about Star Trek. I <3 Superman so very, very much.

Best. Superhero. Ever.
