Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister, the first VR video game to feature the iconic Sisters of Battle, comes to Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2

Leamington Spa, UK – Pixel Toys has today announced details of its brand new VR shooter game, Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister.

Following the initial announcement of the game at its Facebook Connect event last night, Pixel Toys has announced further information around its brand new, narrative driven, action shooter game, with innovative technology maximizing the power of Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2.

In a series of firsts for the Warhammer 40,000 Universe, Pixel Toys' latest development features the iconic Battle Sisters as lead protagonists. This also happens to be the first Warhammer 40,000 game to be released on any VR platform.

The latest game to join the Warhammer franchise will put the player in the power armour and wargear of Sister Ophelia, a veteran Sister of Battle. Players will battle through an epic story where Ophelia searches for her lost twin sister and fights for the future of humanity itself.

The new game from Pixel Toys offers Warhammer fans, both new and old, an unparalleled gaming experience, using the latest VR technology enables players to truly embody the Sisters of Battle. Fully immersed in the Warhammer universe, players can experience fast-moving action gameplay across wartorn planets, vast interstellar battle cruisers and alien strongholds, all rendered in VR with stunning detail.

Getting in on the action itself, Battle Sister features a range of iconic wargear from the Warhammer 40,000 universe for players to actually wield, for the first time in their own hands, legendary weapons including Bolters, Plasma Pistols and Flamers.

The game includes a deep narrative as the characters are brought to life by a range of talented actors including Victoria Atkin (Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Horizon Zero Dawn, Kristin Atherton (RSC) and Obioma Ugoala (Hamilton, Frozen).

"We're thrilled to be bringing the incredible Warhammer 40,000 universe to life in VR for the first time," says Andy Wafer - CEO at Pixel Toys. "Making a game centered on the righteous Sisters of Battle, who are relatively unexplored in video games, has been an amazing privilege for us. The timing couldn't be better too, with the game coming to the recently announced Oculus Quest 2, we're able to bring these amazing characters to life for Warhammer fans and newcomers alike, in more visceral detail and epic scale than ever before."

Pixel Toys has already had chart topping success collaborating with Oculus on Drop Dead: Dual Strike, and working with Games Workshop to create the groundbreaking Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade. It is now forging its love of Warhammer 40,000 with the most creatively and technically cutting edge VR technology to create an epic action packed experience that pushes the bounds of what is possible in VR.

Warhammer 40,000 Battle Sister will be available for Oculus Quest and [Oculus Quest 2].
