Wow, those are some pretty pipes! I'm only puffing a $6 model, haha. Looks like you got quite the score!
That Peterson is real sexy.

Go to cigar? Hmmm, not sure if I really have one. I've only smoked a little bit of cigars and I've been leaning towards pipes lately. Been on a blend called Black Vanilla which I've been liking. Want to find some Haunted Bookshop next. Honestly, just for the name, but some people seem to like it.

Anyhow, cigars. Um, I haven't been digging Acid too much. The sugar tip is just too much for me. I enjoyed Gurka and Cohibas. So, maybe those.

I have grown to love pipes over the last few months :3 current favorite is a blend from pipesandcigars.com called Golden Dansk.

Best summer Steam sale purchase so far?

Golden Dansk, eh?

Hmm, not sure. I played old Mount and Blade games, but I'm looking forward to giving Warband a try. Wolf Among Us looks cool, too.

Picked up Sins of a Solar Empire for a friend, so maybe that.

So what do you think about this quote from John Carmack?

"The idea that I can be presented with a problem, set out to logically solve it with the tools at hand, and wind up with a program that could not be legally used because someone else followed the same logical steps some years ago and filed for a patent on it is horrifying."

I'm inclined to sympathize. Patentable code is a bit of a bizarre beast, and as beasts go, an incredibly dangerous one. The concept of patenting the Facade design pattern or a for loop is not only silly, but would be a giant roadblock to process. Software has come a long way over it's open nature. Coders share their work. Theirs too much to know to not help each other, and we care more about solving problems than securing business interests.

But, on the other hand, patents also have their place: to incentivize innovation. If a company invests millions into a product only to have the codebase stolen, what protection is there? And guess what jobs start thinning out?

Here I have to admit my ignorance. Patenting conceptual or code components is ludicrous, and patenting abstract ideas like a scroll bar is also ludicrous, but there seems to be a certain balance point, some form of patentable, that straddles the line between the incentive and freedom of innovation.

I may not be a mushroom, but I'm a fungi!
*ahem*
Uh. I'll show myself out.

Not a huge fan of them, but go well with some foods. Steak, combo pizzas, etc.

Haven't heard of it before and there are none in CA, but I'm game if I'm in the area. If you ever visit my neck of the woods, might have to show you MegaByte Pizza.

Yeah, we use it at my company right now.

It's certainly not the worst I've used, but I prefer Mercurial and even SVN to it. I was a little bummed that we moved to TFS after a number of engineers had a hard time grasping a distributed versioning system.
