People are too timid these days, imo. ;)

Out of boredom, here are the lyrics of Switchfoot's "Happy is a Yuppie Word"

Ah!

Everyone dies
Everyone loves a fight
Nothing is sound
Nothing is right side right
Evening comes, when the sun goes down in red
Nothing is cool
When will all the fighting end
When will all the fighting end

Happy is a yuppie word
Nothing in the world could fail me now
It's empty as an argument
I'm running down a life that won't cash out (cash out)

Everything fails
Everything runs it's course
A time and a place, for all of this loving war
Everyone buys, everyone's gotta price, and nothing is new
When will all the failures rise
When will all the failures rise, rise!

Happy is a yuppie word
Nothing in the world could fail me now
It's empty as an argument
I'm running down a life that won't cash out

Happy is a yuppie word
Blessed is the man who's lost it all
Happy is a yuppie word (word)

Looking for an orphanage
I'm looking for a bridge I can't burn down
I don't believe the emptiness
I'm looking for the kingdom coming down
Everything is meaningless
I want more than simple cash can buy
Happy is a yuppie word
Happy is a yuppie word
Happy is a yuppie word
Happy is a yuppie

Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound
Nothing is sound

Happy is a yuppie word
Nothing in the world could fail me now
Happy is a yuppie word (word)

So calm down, yeah!
So calm down, yeah!
So calm down, yeah!

Why do I like that CD so much....

Um.. 8O Nice lyrics.

I prefer songs without singing, though. (Probably has to do with the fact that I hate having to sing)

Well, considering that I don't have to sing to any of them....

What was the " 8O " for?

The songwriter lives someplace in which the sun is red, which is why I was 8O

8O

Oh.

That song always reminds me of the beginning of Ecclesiastes.

Oh - yeah, I can see why.

That chapter is strange though - Solomon wrote a whole book on wisdom, getting knowledge, etc. - and then he writes that wisdom is grief - and increasing knowledge increases sorrow. :?

Ecclesiasties is one sad book... imho.

Yes, it is. And true.

I find the more I learn about humanity, the more I marvel how God would be interested something so screwed up.

So true - although, when you look for the good in people - you occasionally find some. ;)

(...only some though. :x )

Yes. But it seems that many people try to deny the bad.

And I have an unfortunate tendency to notice the flaws and weaknesses first. :(

Well, at least you won't start trusting the wrong person too easily. ;)

I don't go out in public that often, because I'll walk along eyeing the people around me and
thinking, "Wonder what kind of criminal they are...".

Must be the way Dad brought us up...

Or that combined with an innate tendency.

I don't usually do that-I've learned that I'm just as screwed up as everyone else.

True, but knowing that just makes me even more - suspicious.

 Can't say that I'm surprised.

How goes the next chapter?

*disappears back into Morrowind*

Quite well. I'm at 664 words, so far.

Whoa - I just noticed a gaping plot hole. :o *fixes it quickly before anyone can notice*
