My posts were never meant to be about me, so why is everyone talking about me now? I'm glad to give any helpful advice that I can, but it's those of you who act upon my advice and benefit from it that my posts were about.

All the same, thanks for the words of encouragement.

Today, I went to a different church (a hobby of mine is to try out random churches), and the teaching was really good. The passage focused on was in Galatians 6, but verses nine and ten stood out the most. So here are those two verses in the NIV (not my preferred translation, but it's the most widely accepted):
Galatians 6:9,10 wrote:9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Words of wisdom right there. I mean, duh, it's from the Bible, but I thought verse ten to be exceptionally noteworthy. Still, that chapter, as well as the rest of the book for that matter, seems like a good choice of reading for the present situations talked about in this thread.

And I officially feel like I've hijacked this thread. I guess that's the cost of saying something, huh?

I'll still be around just in case my words will again be helpful. Have the best Sunday you can, everyone!

I know that you weren't making this about you-which I why I'm so impressed.

This is the spam thread-I doubt it can be hijacked. (Though it seems dramatic irony that we're using it for this discussion. 8O ) And the verses are appropriate.

Our youth pastor was talking about how "accepting people for who they are" can be taken too far, thus treating sin as acceptable. He doesn't tend to speak on specific Bible passages as much.

Maybe I'll finish memorizing Psalm 27-something about it just always makes it a little bit easier for me to trust God.

That's awesome.

The church I visited today had given a challenge to its congregation: to memorize the sermon on the mount this year. It basically translates to two verses a week. I think I'm going to take that challenge (even if I don't go back to that church). In fact, I think I'll go create a thread issuing that same challenge now.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a Seahawks fan!

That's pretty cool that the 'Hawks made it through the wildcard round (that's what this was, right? I don't follow football). Sounds like it was an awesome game. Maybe the 'Hawks will get fair treatment from the refs this time around (I pay enough attention to know that lots of questionable calls were made last Superbowl).

Football is fun to watch. I think I need to go get Madden '07 for the Wii now...

I ONLY watch the playoffs and Super Bowl IF the Seahawks are in them. ONLY the Seahawks, and they have to be in a Playoff or Super Bowl.

Like I said, I only like the Seahawks, and I'm still not a big fan of football. I only like playing SOME sports with my friends and watching the Seahawks play. Really, I hate sports... I hate it like chickens hate foxes...
