I would like winter a lot better if there wasn't so much flu and cold germs about. That's why I always disliked this season.

Thermometer says -23 Celcius.

Radio says -26 wind chill.

If I wasn't used to this kind of November weather, I'd go crazy.

Same here, except our weather has been like 60 degrees all week, so I just go out in the woods and do "things" and forget all about the chaos and carnage in the house - and then I have to come back in.

Can you believe this part? My Mom, my own mother, told me that she wants someone to go with me into the woods because it isn't safe. (or, because she wants someone to monitor me out there, like they do in the house)

I am fifteen. The woods is about ten acres. I have been living in these woods for at least seven or eight years of my life.

Conclusion: my Mom is either a control freak(very possible), or she's just... crazy.

I am unable to see any other reason. The one about it not "being safe" is completely ridiculous, obviously not the "real" reason.

Is it still firearm season out there for deer?

Because Michigan's gun season just ended, and unless you are wearing bright orange it's not safe at all in the woods (there are stories up north of school buses getting hit en route to more remote stops..)

Hunters don't usually come on our land(guess the hidden bear traps, shotguns tied to trip wires, and rabid dogs must've scared them off).

Anyway, I wear enough colored clothing that they'd have to be blind(or just a moron) to shoot at me.
