Alright...I need something asplained to me. I was reading Newegg reviews about a CPU, and a ton of reviews mentioned unlocking and OC'ing a dual core 3.1 GHz chip into a Quad core 4.2 GHz chip.

Umm...dis possible and how does it work?

there's an article on anandtech that talks about unlocking a dual core phenom into a quad core via a bios setting...basically AMD is dumbing down a cpu instead of changing their production process

Sounds about right.

That's not something I'd call easy to do, if you're the average computer user.

I meant what AMD was doing. Consumers fully utilizing their tech in unexpected ways = win.
