Got back from a kayak ride.

...

It was very slightly breezy and overcast when I went out on q smaller lake nearby. When i got to a spot I thought might be good for trout, the wind started gusting, so I started back against what soon became a good steady thirty MPH wind. Then it started raining...then thundering...then hailing. And just when i thought nothing else could go wrong...my smokes fell in the drink.

And I didn't get any fish for supper.

Captain D's. I have yet to taste home cooked fish that tasted better than Captain D's.

Went shopping. Bought some Origami paper in suitably dark tones that I love. And also some Tang. And also a bottle of Watermelon Kiwi soda. I was actually planning on saving my money and buying paintbrushes next week, but the Tang was on sale (or was supposed to be, anyway. It wasn't. >_<) and...Watermelon Kiwi soda. Watermelon. Kiwi.

Watermelon Kiwi? That's a combination that I've never heard of.

... I want some now.

Iknorite? Our local Kroger has some of the weirdest soda's ever. They even make an apple soda. XD It's tasty, just...not something you find often around here.

I'm still waiting for cheese soda.

I haven't seen apple soda at Kroger. Does it taste like apple cider?

Sort of. More like apple flavored candy. Or a really sweet apple.

Made General Tso's pork. Which was, as most deep fried foods, pretty amazing. May have been a few undercooked pieces though. I despise raw pork, and what's more, I cooked it.

Heard that the ingame tv shows return in Max Payne 3... and strangely, this is one of the things that make me want the game the most. :P Hoping for some more Dick Justice. "I had a permanent constipated grimace on my face..."

The complete departure from the first 2 max payne's film noir style has completely turned me off. Why even bother with this IP, then?

True... I played Max Payne 2 for the first time while there was a thunderstorm brewing outside; the dark, rainy atmosphere was amazing. It kinda baffles me why they'd throw that atmosphere away in favour of going down ol' South America way. and I never exactly got why Max is bald and fat in this one either. People thought that his change in appearance from the first game to the second was bad.

Buuut I'll still be giving the game a shot. If just for the tv shows. :P

There... hasn't been a departure. The only thing that's different is that the voice is a little different and there aren't comic book panels. In other words, the writing isn't overwrought so it feels more like a modern day Raymond Chandler (and let's be honest, Sam Lake isn't the best writer around) than someone who doesn't know how to properly use similes.

The first half of the game has Max with hair. There's a pretty significant event that features him shaving his head bald. There are also flashbacks detailing why he's in South America (parts of the game feature him in Hoboken, NJ, as a washed-up former cop trying to drown himself in the bottle after the events of the first two games).

It's actually very solid and works quite well with the fiction of the previous games. :D
