1.9 pre-release 4

Postby Cpt_Cheesepuffs » Tue Oct 18, 2011 9:20 am

With each pre-release they also release the server .jar. So i was wondering if maybe we could update the server to 1.9 pre-release 4 ? Also maybe run a temporary map for the prerelease? Oh and this is the link to the prerelease download and the server .jar http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/268- ... -4-is-out/

Good idea! Is it pretty bug-free?

I voted new map. I would like to see some creations (Wampaville, Temple, and other classic creations) moved over, though.

I didn't vote just yet, but good poll :)

The reason I didn't vote was because the release of this game is due in November. Give it another week after that, and we've got bukkit up and running again (well-needed).

So, my vote is for a new map when the game is released and bukkit is updated! :)

I agree with Cantore, wait for full release.

A week beforehand, give everyone creative with orders to make LSD illusionary things happen

So when final comes out everyone gets a blank slate? New map, delete player profiles, no creative powers unless given, admins remain the same?

I think pretty much - Yes to all these.

I believe that so far the polls show that Creative only be given when OP admins are on, and taken when they are off.

I personally think this is just a slippery slope to everyone keeping creative, and the same thing happening in the next map (that is, unless we have themed areas)... but that's just my opinion, and may or may not be factual.

My only hope is to actually keep the spirit of the minecraft game, where making amazing things IS an accomplishment.

Frankly, I think you're right, it's the best way. When I put Jerusalem onto the map, I will put 20 bedrock rooms in a secluded deep-underground location on the map, and have an OP create a warp to that location with a specific name. The person for whom that storage location is for will then coordinate (via PM on the forums here) as to what name he/she would like to change it to in order to remember it better. Then, that member may warp there at any time, find the chests full of the items requested (using signs), and then warp out to their project. The reason it would have to be secluded is to prevent looting, and to give that member a sense of belonging within the server.

You don't have to... it's not hard to do. Any admin in-game can help with the warps. I'll make the rooms with MCEdit and stick them underground somewhere when I import Jerusalem again.
