New Minecraft Policy

We're now using a Whitelist to protect our server from being griefed. If you want on to our server we have to manually add your name onto the whitelist. No more friend of a friend sharing the IP address. All it takes is just one jerk to ruin the fun for everyone.

To get your name on the whitelist we need to get to know you and ask that you post a minimum of 15 times. We're talking meaningful posts. Spamming or pointless posts will be deleted and WILL NOT count. Here's some posting suggestions. It more fun to play with people we know right?

We have a few rules on this server to keep it fun for everyone. Failure to follow these rules will result in being banned and added to the mcbans and MCBouncer databases.

1. No griefing.
2. No stealing.
3. PvP must be agreed upon by both players.
4. No swearing.
5. Being a Christian is not a requirement for this server. Don't force the gospel on uninterested players.
6. Respect other players properties and don't build on, above or below them.

Once you have 15 posts under your belt we need to know your minecraft username and the whitelist is case sensitive.

It takes a lot of time and effort to maintain this server. Donations are always welcome.

I hope you find this server a blessing and understand why we have to implement these policies.

man this is ridiculous! who would dedicate their time to destroying servers??? I did tons of work on sydney this week, the whole time I was thinking "man it would suck if the server got griefed and I lost of it"

It's not very motivating for me to build anything anymore, just cause the last few big thigns I've tried to build end up getting reset cause of the griefers :(

Well at least I don't have to worry about that anymore, thanks for adding the mod!
EDIT: wow... I seriously lost every single thing I did on sydney this week... which was hours of my time... Well I probably won't be the server for a while...

Yeah it does suck. I lost all of wampaville. :( Also one of the guys was flying around so i dont know if that needs to be a direct mod on the server or not. They might have directly hacked it

At the rate we had people joining the server I just renamed and backed up the old world and restored from a 6 day old backup. Had I not have done that, the griefed world would have been backed up and overwritten the previous one. Dealing with one griefer in the past is one thing dealing with hundreds (I'm not exaggerating here) the whitelist mod had to be put in place. I don't play the server so I rely on input for what mods should be put in place and that also makes me not privy as to what gets built and so forth. I'm sorry for the lost time and effort but I thought a weekly backup would be sufficient, I did not anticpate having the IP address broadcasted on hacking forums etc.

I don't think there's any way you could have predicted that.

It's one thing to get online with a hack and use cheats to kill people on a 'normal' game server...but it requires you to be a real jerk to mess with a Minecraft server. It's basically the kid who runs up and knocks down the block tower just to ruin it for the other kids. Or the dumb kid that breaks your freaking Lego castle for fun.

I spit upon them and pour cold gravy down their pants. I'm sorry this happened to you guys.

Even if I don't play Minecraft yet. :P

well if it had been backing up for sooner than one week we would have lost everything in the entire server, so that was a good pace to be saving the world at.

Also, Chozon1,you should join!!! at least there wont be anymore griefing :)

Welcome, we'd love to have you on the server. I have updated the whitelist, let me know if it works. Please make yourself at home here and get to know us. :) Sorry for the whitelist but it proved to be a necessary measure. Have you been on the server before?

I can't believe what happened!?
Our IP got on a hack forum!?

Well that's shocking.
I wished I made traps. -.-

It's to bad this happened.
I did not build on those days,
but I know how it feels to lose some awesome that took time to make.
Be part of the answer, not part of the problem.

YES! It does stink to lose everything you worked on--because I was building a HUGE house during those 6 days! ... So sad.

But I appreciate CCGR for getting the server back in order--I don't think there was any other way to fix the problem.

Thanks for getting everything back up and running hacker-free!
