Yah, boi. Love it. Loved the first two, and this is good thus far.

Wait till you see the ending :/

Messing around in Shadow Complex

From what I've heard, I'm going to pretend the ending doesn't exist...

Do you like the philosophical sci-fi endings (like Blade Runner) that were really popular from the 1960s through the early 80s?

Then you'll probably be okay with the Mass Effect 3 ending. Not everything is explained, and that's totally okay. In fact, a writer shouldn't explain everything, so going with that, a story should be as the creator intends, not as the audience intends.

The problem with the Mass Effect ending is that a certain segment of the audience was led to believe that they had inherent control over the direction of the story. And then, when the ending became an example of the writers saying, "This is what we were going for"... that audience freaked out. It was a massive overreaction to a well-done conclusion.

If anyone actually objects to the fact that not everything is explained in the ending of Mass Effect 3, I'd invite them to read Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delany, and if they're feeling adventurous, Finnegans Wake by James Joyce.

See if you can write a letter demanding explanation then.

...I cannot stand gamer entitlement.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

Ah, that's right. That IS what I had heard. For some reason I was thinking that the ending was overtly depressing and unfulfilling (maybe it is, I dunno), but the fact that I can't "change" the ending doesn't really bother me. If that's the way the creators wanted it, then fine. I'm just hoping it's not: "Well, good try, but the reapers destroy all in the end anyway," ya know? ;)

Incidentally, I last played ME3. Loving it. :P

Isn't that battle is optional though. (It's at the coliseum world right?)
I battled them a lot later, since I like to save side quests till I get close to the last boss.

Here's something I learned from that battle.
Spoiler:
Attack Leon last, since he has two bars of heath, and powers up when he gets weak.
Also Yuffie will keep healing him if he gets low on heath, which can make it almost impossible to beat him first.

You got this battle! :)

Oh, by the way.
I am not to sure if it's optional anymore,
because I just found the keyhole after the third contest.

Portal

Decided to revisit this one to beat the advanced maps... two left to go! The parts that require perfect timing are the most frustrating to me.

Yeah, Garth, remember that bit about "philosophical"?

Goes the same about "interpretations" for the ending of Mass Effect 3. And none of the interpretations are that the Reapers destroy everything. :|

Ah, gotcha. I'm really gonna have to play this myself, then, eh? ;) I tend to not be a hater, so I'm thinking I'll be okay with the ending. I usually agree with your tastes in story, too, anyway.
