Thanks!
This Summer my local Games Workshop is hosting a Warhammer 30k campaign.... (Yes, 30k, not 40k!) The idea is to recreate the Horus Heresy, the civil war that rocked the Imperium 10,000 years prior to "now" ingame. Each player chooses one of the old Space Marine Legions. Since my Black Templars didn't exist 10,000 years ago, I chose to do an army based on the Thousand Sons, a Legion with a tragic story that drove them to turn against the Imperium. Since they're still in transition, I chose to paint them in their pre-Heresy livery. If you're interested in more details, here's a link to the unofficial Warhammer 40,000 wiki and the Thousand Sons page:
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Thousand_Sons#.T7G7g8XNkYIMy wife and I are working on the project together. So far, I have half of one tactical squad complete. (She's working on an assault squad, but I already called "dibs" on the sergeant!) Starting a new army in Warhammer is an expensive proposition, so for this squad I'm using old Space Marine models I bought (literally) 22 years ago, stripped the old paint off of them, and reassembled/repainted them. I haven't finished the bases yet, because I haven't decided how I want to do it.
This squad is sporting the Mk VI "Corvus" power armor.
