A couple more I've completed in the last couple weeks:

A Hoarcat Pride for Malifaux:

And the Ice Golem, also for Malifaux:

Blast it Arctic, how big are the Malifaux figures? O_o The details on the Hoarcat Pride are stunning.

Thanks!

Well, for the Golem itself, I did a basecoat of Vallejo Flat Blue all over. Then a layer of Vallejo Flat Blue mixed 50/50 with Vallejo Sky Grey over the upward-facing surfaces. Finally, a highlight on the edges with Citadel Space Wolf Grey. The terrain on the base was a thin layer of Vallejo Water Effects (Atlantic Blue) with a patch of Woodland Scenics Snow (Soft Flake) around the feet. The border of the base itself is a basecoat of white with very thin Citadel Midnight Blue applied in varying patches of thickness, with highlights of Vallejo Black and Vallejo Sky Grey to give it a textured look.

Thanks! The base on the Hoarcat Pride is a 40mm base... But I took a picture for you with a quarter since I don't know about you, but I find it a lot easier to compare stuff visually.

My friends and I are currently running a Warhammer Fantasy campaign. Last weekend I scored a major victory and one of my rewards was to pick one of my units and designate it as a "Regiment of Renown." I also got a free magic standard to add to the unit. Here's the result:

I fixed up the paint job on the unit's leader (The Gallant) and gave him the name Sir Jasperre, slayer of Malgrimace:

This is the unit, now known as the Brothers of Bastonne:

And this is the Ranger's Standard, now a permanent part of the unit (At least, until the end of the campaign!)

Thanks!

This Summer my local Games Workshop is hosting a Warhammer 30k campaign.... (Yes, 30k, not 40k!) The idea is to recreate the Horus Heresy, the civil war that rocked the Imperium 10,000 years prior to "now" ingame. Each player chooses one of the old Space Marine Legions. Since my Black Templars didn't exist 10,000 years ago, I chose to do an army based on the Thousand Sons, a Legion with a tragic story that drove them to turn against the Imperium. Since they're still in transition, I chose to paint them in their pre-Heresy livery. If you're interested in more details, here's a link to the unofficial Warhammer 40,000 wiki and the Thousand Sons page:http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Thousand_Sons#.T7G7g8XNkYI

My wife and I are working on the project together. So far, I have half of one tactical squad complete. (She's working on an assault squad, but I already called "dibs" on the sergeant!) Starting a new army in Warhammer is an expensive proposition, so for this squad I'm using old Space Marine models I bought (literally) 22 years ago, stripped the old paint off of them, and reassembled/repainted them. I haven't finished the bases yet, because I haven't decided how I want to do it.

This squad is sporting the Mk VI "Corvus" power armor.

The 5 men complete so far:

Nice detailing. XD I like mark VI armor, and the fact that it's shiny. How did you manage that? Is it just the paint?

Yeah the paint is Tamiya Mica Red spray paint, which has a metallic finish to it.
