question about the server 'type' you have.

Postby RKDN » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:10 pm

Ive looked around the forums and didn't find a break down on what 'style' of server is being run. Is it creative mode? Adventure mode? and roughly how 'filled out' has it become at this point - would a new player still be able to find a quiet corner somewhere to start building a duchy of their own?

It's a standard SMP server with some mods and whatnot. No creative mode, no begging the ops for stuff. :P

As for filling-out, I'm pretty sure if you wander far enough, you'll find some unclaimed territory. The only major settlement that I'm aware of is New Town, as the locals have so creatively called it. :P

So beyond about a 1,000 block radius form the spawn, it should be clear. You might want to ask around about certain fortifications for a certain event of sorts we're doing. I'm not in the know, so I can't attest to it. XD

excellent. I like servers where you have to earn each block.

also, howd you get those tags in your sig? I tried and it said that I couldn't use the URL command.

I'm going to restate what Deep said...
Completely survival - no creative, no asking ops for anything, etc.
No server is completely "filled out" - more world can always be generated. Around spawn, though, there's not much room. However, you should be able to find some unused land a little outside of spawn town, or near "New Town." Personally, I don't like to "live" near other people - I like to expand and create my own little town - so I'm out a few thousand blocks from spawn. Plenty of unused land. You can also go to mc.ccgr.org and use the map to try to spot an unused area where you want to live.
If you have questions about any of our plugins, we have a Minecraft Plugin Reference Thread that should be able to help you.

In reference to Deep's tags, I'm assuming you mean the link? Use this:
Code: Select all
TheTitleGoesHere

I'm not sure, though. It might be configured so you have to have 15 posts before you can do that. I think PM's are set up the same way.

Generally on a server with a saturated spawn, I just stock up on food, build a boat, and cross the ocean. I love discovering new things and then having nice suprises for people who discover them for themselves. Like, randomly building a little stonehenge out in the middle of nowhere, just for some future explorer to discover on their own and hopefully think it was kinda cool.

i cant wait to get started :)
