I went to college for maybe a semester.

Actually, I went to art school for a semester and then community college for a semester.

Some people say that it doesn't matter. For me, it only matters if I'm roleplaying and when someone types as poorly as they do in an internet forum, it really gets on my nerves. But, in an everyday situation, it doesn't matter so much to me. There is nothing more annoying then seeing u for you, lol, and a smiley emoticon in a roleplay post. But as I've said, it shouldn't matter so much. Because not everyone in the world can afford to spell the right way. We should feel lucky to have things like dictionaries(sp?) and thesauruses(sp?).

Everyone in the world can "afford" to spell the right way. All it takes is a tiny bit of effort and, you know, maybe picking up a book (as you may recall, in Western countries, going to school and learning how to read is a requirement by law. So that isn't much of an excuse) once in a while.
