Sweet. God, open up my heart and mind to receive more of you and not just enough to get me by.................

1. Derived from a Greek word, which signifies, to compare things together, to form a parallel or similitude of them with other things.

2. Truth being taught through the telling of a story.

3. To reveal and spread the truth.

4. For those who understand them to be blessed.

5. He was revealing truth to those who will listen and understand.

6. If you have interest, be sure to listen.

7. To be completely open to the truth.

8. Being worried about life, focusing on wealth and earthly desires.

9. He gives knowledge and guidance to those who want to understand, and the stubborn will miss out.

10. Be open to the meaning of the parables, accept it, and live by it.

The reason why Jesus spoke in parables is so that those who have an open heart will be able to understand, accept and remember them. It was also meant to fulfill the prophecy.

1. Parable; An utterance that involves a comparison.
2. A story or somesuch that hides a moral point inside an easy to remember tale.
3. So that people would listen to his stories, and think more on them in trying to discover the hidden point.
4. So that he could spread his message to those who would hear and receive it.
5. I think he was revealing it to those who wanted to hear it, and who could understand it, and hiding it from those who would not and could not.
6. I think it means that the ones who could hear and understand should pay attention.
7. I think god has to have chosen you and unclogged your ears, so to speak. Luke also says 'an honest and clean heart' is required for the seed to grow.
8. The things of the world, Satan, and a lack of perseverance, amongst other things.
9. If you have eternal life then you will gain life. If you don't, then even the life you have will be taken from you eventually.
10. I'm not sure I understand the question. Certainly, I think they can be taken incorrectly, so I think they should be understood with more words and such taken from the bible, rather than human wisdom or knowledge.

Jesus spoke in parables to reveal what he could to everyone, even if only the people God enabled could truly understand them. Plus, it's much easier to remember a story and dig through it than a dry moral teaching.

4) Different people, or I guess it's different responses of people.

5) Satan.

6) Times of pressure, or persecution.

7) Pleasures and worries of the world.

10) I don't know. Maybe the effort of the soil itself?

To pay attention to God's word. To not let myself be choked by thorns, or to let myself wither in the sun. To try and grow some tasty fruit.

1. Jesus was preaching by the lake, where a large crowd was gathered around him. It was so large that he had to sit on a boat while all the people were on the shore.

2. Jesus is the sower.

3. The seed is the word of God.

4. The soil represents how the word is received.

5. The devil

6. When someone deals with trouble or persecution.

7. The worries of life, focus on wealth and other earthly desires.

8. Someone who hears the word and accepts it.

9. A crop that can yield a hundred, sixty or thirty times more than what was sown.

10. It depends on the person, and how well they live their life and spread the word.

I learned that I need to focus less on earthly desires, and to not be as worried about things in life. Spend less time working towards something that is useless and instead follow Gods word.

1. This is carried on from when Jesus was preaching from a ship

2. God's kingdom

3. The gospel

4. God sends his message to us but it's not always received (sprout)

5. Once the seed has been planted within us, it's up to us to grow it

6. The fruit is us receiving the gospel and sharing it with others

7. This is talking about how our faith grows, we're not instant experts..it's a journey

8. I believe God is being referred to here, he's the one to claim us in the end.

9. The harvest is us believers

10. Not every seed brings forth fruit. Only those who listen and receive, accept and follow the gospel will be taken by God.

How fruitful are we? How much time do we have left?

1) The disciples were asking Him about his parables, and Jesus was explaining.

2) I think the sower in this case might be missionaries, or Christians telling the truth.

3) Still the word of God, but also our lives, maybe?

4) Not much. He sows it, but some mysterious force makes it grow.

5) It suggests that the sower doesn't have anything to do with whether or not anything grows.

6) Christians.

7) Growth. From a little plant, to mature fruit.

8) God, I think.

9) Death?

10) Only if the seed grows into a plant will it get harvested.

It's a process, and only God can start it. Sort of. God makes the seed grow into a plant, but it doesn't happen instantly. Takes a bit of time, and care from God. And He uses us as His farmers.

1. Jesus continues to teach by the sea side.

2. The Kingdom of God

3. The Word of God

4. The sower doesn't know how the seed sprouted and grew.

5. We are in control of how we interpret the word.

6. The fruit is the goodness in the heart of a Christian.

7. The way we live by the Word and how we grow.

8. God

9. The harvest is the salvation for our good deeds and how we lived by following the Word of God. It is our acceptance into the Kingdom of God.

10. The seed is something that is planted in our hearts, once we accept it, live by it, and grow spiritually, we are accepted into the Kingdom of God.

I believe the lesson here is about how we, as believers, hear the Word of God and how it's planted into our hearts. Depending on how we live our lives, the seed will grow and become fruitful, in which we are then saved.

Just because we're Christian doesn't mean we won't have conflict or trials. We're here for a reason and will be redeemed in the end.

The Parable of the Tares

1) Jesus continued to teach by the sea shore.

2) Good seeds, or Christians, and the bad seeds, or the sons of the evil ones.

3) In his field; the word, I think.

4) The man's enemy came and sowed bad seed in the night; the Devil.

5) Jesus.

6) To burn them.

7) Harvest; the angels.

8) "Everything that causes sin and those guilty of lawlessness".

9) People who can claim to be Christian and not be; a wolf in sheeps clothing.

10) Pulling them from someplace where they were established as wheat.

Later, God will separate the good seed from the bad, and the bad will be burned. So even though it seems like the bad wheats are just as happy as the good, it's not so.

1. Jesus continues to preach beside the sea, with crowds gathered around him.

2. Wheat (Good) and weeds (Bad).

3. He sowed the seed in the field, which represents the world.

4. The enemy of the man sowed weeds among the wheat. The devil.

5. God.

6. That the weeds shouldn't be gathered yet, because the wheat will be harmed as well. The wheat and the weeds have to grow together, then when it's time, the weeds will be gathered first and burned.

7. When it's time for harvest, and the men will be the ones to do it.

8. I think the weeds are the people who do evil in this world, and are unbelievers.

9. We live in a world full of evil people, but when the time will come we will be separated from them.

10. It implies that the evil of this world will try to ruin us along with themselves. There are many people who say they believe, but will stir you in the wrong direction, because they themselves are corrupted.

Be strong in your faith. We live in a world where it's easy to get rooted in and live in darkness. When the day will come, the faithful and good will be separated from the unfaithful and evil.

2. A mustard seed

3. How small it is

4. A big tree

5. Isaiah 11:1

6. The kingdom of heaven would have humble root

7. "it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof."

8. humble/small

9. Us I believe

10. being planted in God

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Jesus was humble but powerful. His kingdom awaits.

Parable

1. A series of spiritual fables that Jesus told to people to help them better undertstand what is happening now and what He is here for. He also told parables to correct or tear down any wrong thinking.

2. A story told for enlightenment or visual teaching.

3. A story told to young children.

4. Stories with meaning behind them.

5. Tales that capture the imagination to increase one's wisdom, whether conscious or unconscious.

Simply put, they are a part of Jesus's/God's way of communicating with us.
