Help Wanted

Do you love to play games, write, or have a thing for grammar? If you do, we here at Christ Centered Gamer would love to hear from you. Currently, CCG is looking for Christian editors and reviewers to help improve and add to our site content.

Why would this interest you? Well, there a few reasons you may want to consider this proposition. How do free games sound? Once you have proven yourself to be an effective writer/editor you will be given opportunities to accept review copies of some great games… No charge to you! You will also be given points to enter our raffle system, where many great games are offered frequently.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, we welcome you to contact us.

Hello, I am interested in writing reviews for your fabulous site. I love gaming, and I am often yelled at for adding in to much detail on my reviews of games to my friend- I can down to the core; to every violent thing to every positive thing. I know a good story when I see it (Half Life 2!) and I know when I game is not "Starting to show age" (BO 2). I also know when things may be sensitive to certain people. If you want a sample review I could send you one.
    Thanks!

Hey I just today found your site and would absolutely love nothing more than to be apart. I am 25 years old and currently am a full time wife and care taker to my disabled husband. We are both HUGE gamers and own a Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, DSiXL, 3DSXL and computers. We own a lot of games (mostly for the Xbox 360) and I am great at playing them and I feel as though I'd be great at giving a fair and balanced review of them. Just the other day I was playing Bioshock and was disturbed by how much the G.D. bomb was dropped among the rest of the fowl language. I turned to my husband and said there has to be games out there that are Christian friendly and while searching for sites about just that I stumbled upon your site. I hope that you give me a try because I would love to be apart of your site.

  • The contact us link is broken, but that's okay. My name is Joel Hulsey and I've been a Christian since January 20, 1980. I have worked for print gaming magazines before, but that was a number of years ago. I left because gaming journalism in general is a very liberal community. As an evangelical Christian, I found it to be a very difficult place to be. So when the last place I worked closed down (Computer Games Magazine, previously Strategy Plus), I pretty much left that behind and just became a gaming fan.

I'm not after free games per se, my job gives me a decent amount to fill my hobby. But I won't turn down the occasional freebie I suppose. My standard for every review I have ever written is a simple one, I try and look at the game as if I was a teenager who saved for a month to buy this one game. How does it stack up? With that in mind, I also try and keep in mind how incredibly difficult it is to make modern games and nobody purposefully sets out to make a bad game. The balance is usually somewhere in the middle, but honesty always comes first.

If you'd like to see what I can do, I'd be happy to write up a review for a current or past game if it is in my library. The systems I have are a pretty beefy PC, PS3 and 360. Never really was a Nintendo guy. I also have a 4th gen Ipad so I can do iOS games if you would like. There are some awesome games out for that platform!

Have an awesome Easter! He is risen and the grave has lost it's sting!

    Hey Christ Centered Gamer,
I don't know how old you have to be but I am fifteen and have been a Christian all my life. I have recently become interested into PC gaming and built my self a pc. While looking for good games to play, I have been disappointed to find that most every game has swearing, sexual themes and intense gruesomeness. I want to let developers know that they would be far more profitable if they had filters for such things.

    Thanks,

  • Age doesn't matter as long as you want to contribute and have an open mind to the editor's feedback on your reviews. :)
